The Finally Fall Tag
Hello!
This week, I’m participating in the Finally Fall Book Blog Tag. (Well, actually it’s technically almost winter, but we’ll ignore that for now.) A huge thanks to Rachel for tagging me for this on her blog. Make sure to go check out her blog!
1. In fall the air is crisp and clear. Name one book with a vivid setting.
The Scorpio Races has a beautiful, very fall-aesthetic, vivid setting. The chilly days, constant roar of the ocean, cloudy skies, sunsets, it all feels so real and is one of my favorite parts of reading The Scorpio Races.
2. Nature is beautiful . . . but also dying. Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech is a middle grade novel with beautiful prose and a very relatable giant family, but after a recent reread, it deals with some very heavy topics, especially for a middle grade novel.
3. Fall is back-to-school season. Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
Honestly, I don’t read very much nonfiction. I want to start reading more, though. What If? Taught me a lot of random facts, random scientific information, and just random information. It was a super fun and entertaining read!
4. In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend time with people we love. Name a fictional family/household/friend group you’d love to be a part of.
Okay, I’m just going to list a few fictional families:
- The Pevensies
- The Connollys
- The Cuthberts
5. The nights are getting darker. Share a dark, creepy read.
I don’t read many creepy books, or at least I can’t think of many at the moment. Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom were pretty dark, but I still really liked them.
6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireplace. Share a book wherein someone is telling a story.
I’d say The Princess Bride, but I haven’t read that yet… So how about Sal from Walk Two Moons?
7. The days are getting colder. Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up someone’s cold and rainy day.
Holes, the Little House on the Prairie books, and Bloomability. These are my comfort books, the ones I read when I don’t know what to read. The ones I read when I need a burst of just fluffy happiness.
8. Fall returns every year. Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.
My family is packing up to move, and I’ve started going through my books. I’ve noticed all the old favorites that I haven’t read for years. Right now, I’m planning on rereading the Pegasus books and the Horse Diaries. Both of these were my favorites when I was younger, and I want to see if they still hold up after so long.
That’s the end of the tag, everyone! Even though winter has almost set in, I’m still enjoying fall as much as I can. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
Aah, how did I miss this? I loved reading your answers!
Thank you so much for tagging me! Those questions were so much fun to answer!
