What are 1-3 of your favorite books of all time?
This is such a hard question! My “favorite books” list is constantly changing, but right now I’d say Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech (a nice roadtrip adventure middle grade novel) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (a thought provoking dystopian series) and The Scorpio Races by Maggie Steifvater (a book with carnivorous horses racing and lots of really beautiful prose) Some honerable mentions are The Giver by Lois Lowry, Fairest by Gail Carson Levine, and Paint the Wind by Pam Munoz Ryan.
What are 1-3 of your favorite authors of all time?
One of my favorite authors is Sharon Creech. Her prose in books like Walk Two Moons and Bloomability are just so nice and fun to read. J.K. Rowling is another one of my favorite authors because the foreshadowing in Harry Potter is phenomenal.
Who is your favorite female character from a book?
It’s a three way tie between Charlotte Doyle from The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Puck Connolly from The Scorpio Races, and Anne from Anne of Green Gables.
Who is your favorite male character from a book?
Thomas Fawkes from Fawkes. He learns and changes a lot during the whole book, which is something I love from characters.
What is your favorite fictional world?
My favorite fictional world is the world Lois Lowry created in The Giver. There is so much to be learned from this book and the world is one of the main things that I love about it. It breaks the dystopian cliche of “war devastates humanity and now we are living divided into different districts or factions” I guess you could say it’s a utopian dystopia? Anyway, I love this world because it plays a very large roll in the book, it breaks cliches, and makes me think.
What book has your favorite cover?
I love pretty book covers, so this is definitely a very hard decision. The cover from A Long Walk to Water looks amazing (I haven’t read it yet) I also love this cover of Jane Eyre.
What is your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?
I don’t watch many book-to-movie adaptations, but The Hunger Games was a pretty good adaptation for accuracy. (I’ve only watched the first movie, so this may be different for the others) I feel like the movie was unable to get Katniss’s true motives across, but that’s way easier in a book than a movie.
If you could make any book into a movie, which would be it?
I think it would be really cool to see Fawkes as a movie. It would be hard to do the white light and all of that, though. Better yet, Walk Two Moons! But all of the flashback-type-things would be hard too… although that could maybe work well in a movie?
What is your favorite childhood book?
The Little House on the Prairie books. My dad read these books to my brothers and I when we were little. There were many days passed by playing “Little House on the Prairie.” I love the books because they are such a cool look at history and life for pioneers.
Fantasy or Sci-Fi? (or neither)
I like fantasy, but there are a lot of fantasy books that are pretty cliche. (dragons, poor farm boys, evil kings, etc.) I haven’t read much sci fi, but it’s very similar to dystopian that I think I would like it more. I have a spot in my heart for fantasy, but only a few books are in that spot.

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
You have great answers! I love Thomas from Fawkes too!
Thank you! Thomas is a pretty awesome character!
Aah! Fawkes! Thomas is one of my favorite characters of all time, too, and I would so love to see it as a movie. (Although, you’re right, with all the colors, it would be really hard to do.)
Yeah, it would be hard to do the lights. Maybe they could do some sort of voice? I don’t know XD It would be really cool to see all of the masks in a movie though.
I used to love Sharon Creech, I should reread her books!
That’s awesome! What books have you read?
Let’s see… I think I’ve read Walk Two Moons, Granny Torrelli Makes Soup, Bloomability, and Absolutely Normal Chaos.
Okay! I love Bloomability! Have you heard of Chasing Redbird? It takes place in Sal’s old town with her friend as the protagonist. I loved the crossover-type thing that happened in it.
No I haven’t, that sounds cool!
