What I do When I’m Not Writing
Hello!
I have a lot of hobbies and activities that I enjoy doing. I’m a jack of all trades. Writing is one of my favorites (and what I want to do as a career) but I also have a lot of other interests, so today I’m going to be sharing with you what I do when I’m not writing.
Music:
I love music, although I don’t aspire to be a professional musician. I’ve played piano since I was five, and then a few years ago I started playing oboe for my school band. This past year, I’ve taken up violin as well. Currently, I take lessons with violin and oboe and I play piano and ukulele just for fun.
Bike Riding:
My dad is a little bike obsessed *looks at the bike filled garage* Every single one of my siblings has at least one or two bikes (not to mention the other million that have been found at thrift stores and fixed up) Lately, we’ve been doing a lot of road rides and mountain bike rides. We also love traveling around and doing races, occasionally meeting up with my cousins for a very muddy cyclocross race.
Hiking and camping:
When there isn’t snow, one of my favorite activities is camping. My family has done many camping trips. One of the most memorable was when we brought one minivan full of bikes and the other stuffed with people. I also really like to hike.
Other Sports:
In the summer, I enjoy swimming. My local pool is only open in the summer, so swim team only lasts a few weeks. I also do a little bit of gymnastics year-round.ย I don’t compete, but it is a lot of fun to do. Skiing is something I love doing too.
Sewing/Costuming:
Recently I’ve been learning how to sew. After starting to sew a little bit, I dove into the world of historical costuming and cosplay. I’ve only made a few costumes so far, but as I learn to sew better, I plan on making a lot of costumes…
Puzzles:
I enjoy doing puzzles a lot, especially while listening to podcasts or music. I mostly do them in the winter, but I still love doing them the rest of the year too. It’s a lot of fun to do with my younger sister and just very relaxing.
