Interviewing Kati from Whatsoever Things
Hello!
Today, I had the pleasure of interviewing Kati from Whatsoever Things. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out her blog Here. And now, without further adieu, here is the interview.
When did you start writing?
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, but It’s only been in recent years that I’ve become really serious about it.
What is your favorite thing about writing?
All of it… except editing. Although to make my answer more interesting, I LOVE creating characters. I feel like maybe I have a unique way of creating them and getting to know them, which makes things a lot of fun!
What writing projects are you working on currently?
I’m working on a series called, “Faith Chasers.” The series is about different teenagers who deal with real life problems such as, drugs, abuse, depression, anxiety, and the consequences of poor life choices. I’m am working on another series that does not have a title yet, but it is a spin off from “Faith Chasers.” That one has a detective theme going on and I can’t wait to finish it. My biggest project right now, that is not a book, is my blog.
What is one piece of advice you would give to beginner writers?
Do not be afraid of writing something bad, just focus on writing. You can always make it better in the future when you have more experience.
What are some things you have learned from your past writing projects?
To be honest I don’t have a lot of “past writing projects” that I could learn from. But what I think I’ve learned is this: “I know I can write.” “I’m not too young to write something good enough for other people to read,” and “My first draft doesn’t have to be perfect.” (I am a perfectionist in the worst kind of way.)
Are you a panster or a plotter?
Definitely a panster. (I had look up what that meant)
What do you learn about writing from what you read?
I learn how to construct a likable and relatable character and I try to figure out what part of a story I like the most and apply it to my own writing.
What are some of your favorite books?
Hmm, I love every book I read pretty much, so it’s hard to choose. I enjoyed the “Starlight Animal Rescue” series,” The Quest for Truth” series, and a billion other series like those.
Thank you to Kati for doing this interview. Make sure to check out her blog Here.
That’s all for now. Until next time!

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
