March Recap: Sun, Hammocks, and Bikes
Hello!
March has been an interesting month. Many things have happened. Spring weather arrived, we started quarantining ourselves, things went crazy…
But there were a lot of pretty fun things too. On March 22nd, I skied for the last time this year. Despite it being the last day, the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! There was fresh powder, no wind, and the weather was very warm.
The last ski day with my cousin. Beautiful view + amazing weather = a great day.
Books:
- Dreamcatcher by Stephen King- This book isn’t something I would read normally, but my brother loved it, so I decided to give it a go. Overall, I really liked it.
- The Giver by Lois Lowry- My grandma is doing a book study with my cousins and I on this book. I spent a whole day reading it in the hammock.
- Creating Character Arcs by K.M. Weiland- While prepping for Camp Nano, I decided to buy this book on a whim. It has been so helpful and I’ve learned a lot about character arcs.
- Outlining Your Novel by K.M. Weiland- this is yet another book I bought for Camp Nano prep. It wasn’t as helpful as the character arcs book, but I still liked it.
Movies:
- Jojo Rabbit- I loved this movie! It was very funny but also had a lot of serious and emotional scenes too. I thought it was just going to be funny with no meaning or moral, but it wasn’t. If you can, I recommend you watch this movie!
- 1917- This movies blew me away. It looked very interesting since it was “one shot” If I could describe this movie in one word, it would be epic.
Quarantine
In the middle of March, the schools where I live closed and my family started “socially distancing” ourselves. During the first few days, it had snowed so staying inside wasn’t an issue. Now the snow has melted and it feels like spring is finally coming!
While being quarantined, I’ve tried to be as productive as possible. Iย have deep cleaned my room, decluttered, and written a lot. I’m also planning on doing Camp Nano in April.
With all of the nice weather, we finally took our bikes out of the garage. My brothers and I have ridden around and it has been so much fun. A few days ago, we went mountain biking for the first time. It was pretty scary at first, but towards the end I started having a lot of fun.
I have also been scrapbooking like crazy. I’ve had to scrapbook pictures from last summer for a while. During this whole endeavor, my desk was covered with stickers, paper, pictures, and a whole bunch of other random things.
The first blades of green grass!!!
My family went bird watching and it was amazing to see the geese flying around.
Until next time!

Hi! Iโm Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When Iโm not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other โ-ingโ words.
I love this blog. March has been a crazy month, but guess what! Last March we had no water for 3 weeks… so which one do you think was crazier?
Also, I want to see a picture of your new mountain bike. You didn’t tell everyone that you purchased a nice mountain bike with your own money! Good for you.
Next time we do a road or mountain bike ride, we should take pictures.
I can’t wait to see what April has in store!
Thank you! Last year’s March was definitely crazy. I can’t decide which has been crazier!
Wow, it looks like you had a fun month! I’ve haven’t watched them yet, but my friends say Jojo Rabbit and 1917 are amazing! I can’t wait to watch them. ๐
I hope you enjoy them! They were definitely amazing.
