It’s Coming… NaNoWriMo!
Hello everyone! The leaves have officially fallen off the trees which means it’s fall! One thing I’m looking forward to this fall (apart from jumping in leaf piles) is NaNoWriMo. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. In the month of November, writers everywhere try to write 50,000 words.
This is my first year doing NaNo, and I’m super excited. Since the main purpose of NaNo is to write words, October is known as Preptober. I have been outlining and character developing these past few weeks of October in preparation, so I thought I’d share what I’m writing.
Introducing…”I don’t know what to call it!”
*facepalms* I’m really bad at making titles. Anyway, for now I’m going to call my NaNo project Lita.
A Synopsis of Sorts
Lita lives in her small mountain village with her large family, hardly paying attention to the Royal Family. Lita’s sister, Catherine, gets herself arrested and taken to the capitol. Lita decides to travel the kingdom of Allendark to try to get Catherine back home.
Katrina has always stumbled into bad luck, or bad luck has stumbled into her. She has vague memories of her older sister playing with her, and memories of her mother. After everyone left, she had prepared to become queen of Kallenbrook. She didn’t know she would become queen of Allendark instead.
When two people collide, it reveals mysterious information. When someone questions something, it reveals how corrupt the Kingdom really is.
I Shall Elaborate
About a year ago during a summer road trip, I came up with a story idea. It was pretty cliche, a girl has to rescue her sister. I eventually forgot about the story, but then a few months ago, I found it. I was horrified at the plot, but I liked the characters. I re-outlined the story, adding a backstory from a different story. Voila! I had a workable story.
See you next time!

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
I can’t wait to read it!!! I’m so excited.
